Oh, God! Who am I?
That among all of which You created, none of them rebelled.
The sun never did say, “Today, I will not shine!”
And the moon displays Your workmanship, every night.
As the birds fly, Your majesty’s portrayed in the sky.
As the fish swim, Your artistry speaks as it’s seen.
But Lord, who am I?
That none of these which never rebelled against you, was created in Your likeness?
But instead, it was I.
It was I, the one who ran away from You.
The one who disobeyed, cursed and went against Your will.
For how many times I’ve failed.
And with Your omniscience, I know you already knew how will I behave.
Yet among all of which You created, on the 6th day,
You breathed and said, “Let us create man in Imago Dei!”
Imago Dei is a Latin phrase which means “image of God”.
